The International Society of Minimally Invasive and Virtual Surgery (ISMIVS, previously known as International Society of Minimally Invasive and Noninvasive Medicine) was founded in July 2013 at the gala of the 1st Yangtze International Summit of Minimally Invasive and Noninvasive Medicine in Chongqing, China. ISMIVS envisions to accelerating the progress in minimally invasive and noninvasive medicine by promoting research, education, communication, and international collaboration.

In July 2023, the Young ISMIVS Committee was formally established in order to respond to the development trend of minimally invasive and noninvasive medicine, and further consolidate the core group of young physicians.
为顺应微无创医学发展的趋势,进一步凝聚中青年微无创医学骨干的力量,推动微无创医学的发展。2023年7月,国际微无创医学会“青年委员会”(以下简称“青委会”)正式成立。
As the youth force of the new era in the field of minimally invasive and noninvasive medicine, the Young ISMIVS Committee carries the important mission of enlightening medical innovation and leading the development of this field. It will become a solid pillar to promote the breakthroughs in minimally invasive and noninvasive medicine to new heights through its unique vitality and profound deposits.

In medicine, a group of passionate young physicians, who harbor the love and persistence for minimal invasiveness and non-invasiveness, keep exploring and moving forward. They are the members of the Young ISMIVS Committee, who contribute to the development of this field with their enthusiasm and wisdom.

The 2024 ISMIVS-APAGE Regional Meeting occurred on July 3rd, in Manila, Philippines, at the St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City. Themed Strategies and Advancements in Minimally Invasive and Noninvasive Surgery, the conference presented a comprehensive program on minimally invasive and noninvasive techniques such as high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and robotic surgery..
2024 年国际微无创医学会(ISMIVS)与亚太妇产科内视镜暨微创治疗医学会(APAGE)于 7 月 3 日在菲律宾马尼拉圣卢克医学中心BGC院区圆满召开。本次会议以“微无创手术的策略与进展”为主题,囊括了微无创技术的综合方案,比如高强度聚焦超声(HIFU)和机器人手术等。
Prof. Philippe Descamps, the President of ISMIVS, and the Past Vice-president of FIGO, discussed the challenges and current status of diagnosing and treating endometriosis, a subtype of female reproductive issue. He also shared the team’s research on miRNA, a type of non-coding RNA, and its potential for developing new diagnostic methods.
国际微无创医学会主席,前任国际妇产科联盟(FIGO)副主席菲利普•德康教授,在会上探讨了诊断和治疗子宫内膜异位症(女性生殖问题的一个亚型)的挑战和现状。他还分享了他的团队对 miRNA(一种非编码的 RNA)的研究及其开发新诊断方法的潜力。
Prof. Lian Zhang, the Secretary General of ISMIVS and the Director of Chongqing Haifu Hospital shared the clinical application of focused ultrasound. He first gave a general introduction to the working principle and biological effect of HIFU, then demonstrated HIFU cases of different indications, including uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, and solid tumours on the breast, liver, pancreas, kidney, and bone.
国际微无创医学会秘书长,重庆海扶医院院长张炼教授分享了聚焦超声的临床应用。他首先介绍了 HIFU 的工作原理和生物学效果,然后介绍了不同适应症的HIFU病例,包括子宫肌瘤、子宫腺肌症、以及发生在乳腺、肝脏、胰腺、肾脏和骨骼等器官的实体瘤。
Prof. Aranya Yantapant, the Vice President of Laparoscopy in ISMIVS and Chairman of Gynecologic Endoscopy at RTCOG, Thailand, shared her experiences with robotic surgery in Rajavithi Hospital, operative outcomes, and the advantages of robotic surgery in gynecology.
学会腹腔镜副主席兼泰国皇家妇产科学会(RTCOG)主席 Aranya Yantapant 教授分享了她在 Rajavithi 医院机器人手术的经验、手术效果,以及机器人手术在妇科疾病治疗方面的优势。
Dr. Selva, the Vice President of HIFU in ISMIVS, and the Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Mahkota Medical Center, discussed infertility with uterine fibroids and adenomyosis, and the role HIFU could play in the management of infertility. He compared the pros and cons between myomectomy and HIFU in treating fibroids and introduced the classification of fibroids, then he detailed the factors to consider before recommending HIFU for fibroids and adenomyosis in infertility patients. He concluded that while offering HIFU for infertility patients with fibroids shall be done carefully, HIFU is superior to adenomyomectomy in patients who want to conceive.

In the same session on applications of focused ultrasound in gynaecological disorders, Dr Sandee, the Assistant Head of the HIFU unit at St Luke's Medical Center, Global City, shared the clinical protocols of HIFU in the treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis. Dr. Xi Wang, the Deputy Director of the Clinical Training Center at Chongqing Haifu Hospital, discussed the current status and development of focused ultrasound in the treatment of vulvar and cervical disease.
同时,在“聚焦超声治疗妇科疾病”的会场中,来自圣卢克医学中心 HIFU 部门的副主任 Sandee 医生分享了其中心治疗子宫肌瘤和子宫腺肌症的临床方案。来自重庆海扶医院培训部的副主任王熙医生则探讨了聚焦超声在外阴、宫颈疾病治疗中的现在和未来发展。
The conference also emphasized the treatment of malignant tumours. We invited Prof. Mohamed Hamed, the Vice President of Interventional Oncology in ISMIVS, the Assistant Professor of Radiology and Interventional Radiology at Cairo University, Egypt, to discuss the management of pancreatic tumour and other extended indications of HIFU; and Prof. Tanto Cheung, the Vice President of Surgery in ISMIVS, also the Chief of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery in Queen Mary Hospital, to give an update on minimally invasive and noninvasive treatments for liver cancer.

To respond to the opening ceremony of the International Workshop on Focused Ultrasound for Tumors, Prof. Min He, the Director of the Training Department, Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine (China), gave an overview of the learning curve for HIFU.

The article investigates the long-term efficacy of ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (USgHIFU) for multiple uterine fibroids and the factors associated with recurrence.

446 patients completed 3 years of follow-up. Recurrence, defined as a PBAC score above or equal to 100 and/or the residual fibroid volume increased by 10%, was detected in 90 patients within 3 years after USgHIFU, with a cumulative recurrence rate of 20.2% (90/446).
446例患者完成3年随访。90例患者在接受 USgHIFU 治疗后 3 年内出现复发,复发定义为 PBAC 评分大于或等于 100 和/或残留肌瘤体积增加 10%,累计复发率为 20.2% (90/446)。
USgHIFU can be used to treat multiple uterine fibroids safely and effectively. The age, T2WI signal intensity and treatment intensity are factors related to recurrence.

Today we are sharing an international consensus statement on non-invasive imaging techniques for diagnosis of pelvic deep endometriosis and endometriosis classification systems. Numerous internationally renowned medical societies, such as ISUOG, IDEA, EEL, AAGL and ESGE, participated in this study and formed an international multidisciplinary team consisting of gynecological surgeons, sonographers, and radiologists.

In this study, the author performed a systematic review and meta-analysis reporting the outcome of cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) undergoing various treatment modalities, from minimally invasive to surgical, which have been described in this paper. And 176 studies (13431 women with CSP undergoing treatment) were included.
