Two academicians shared views on minimally invasive and non-invasive medicine
On July 8, the Academician Forum, one section of the “ The Fifth Yangtze International Summit of Minimally Invasive and Noninvasive Medicine & 2023 ‘One Belt One Road’ Innovation Forum on Minimally Invasive and Noninvasive Medicine”, was successfully held. This part was co-chaired by Wang Zhibiao, Director of State Key Laboratory of Ultrasound Medical Engineering, and Huang Huxin, professor (retired) at the University of New South Wales. Yang Huanming, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Lang Jinghe, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, were the guest speakers.
Academician Yang Huanming said that DNA and HGP are two revolutions in life science, and the bonding between physics and precision medicine brought about micro-non-invasive medicine/pathology, which may be the third revolution. We are standing on the shoulders of giants, we are walking on the road they paved, DNA group /RNA group/proteome/life group/health group/precision medicine... Physics/minimally/non-invasive/pathology, we are on the right direction. Minimally invasive and non-invasive treatment is the future of medicine, of which HIFU is a representative therapy.
Academician Lang Jinghe shared his views from 3 aspects of the philosophical basis of medical knowledge: Epistemology -- the limitation of knowledge; The special value of medical practice: Practice -- the risk of practice; The Right path for medical development: On Contradiction -- Humanistic Considerations. Only by learningcultivating from the essence of medicine can we truly enhance our professional spirit, professional wisdom, professional insight, and professional ability, and truly find the most suitable treatment plan for patients. Focused ultrasound ablation technology reduces surgical injury and provides an additional option for patients.
