Chongqing China- 2013 The 1st Yangtze International summit of Minimally invasive and Noninvasive Medicine was successfully held in July 13th -14th in Chongqing, China. More than 800 experts and delegates from around 20 countries attended the gala including UK, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Romania, USA, China, Republic of Korea, DPR Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Ghana, Chile, Hong Kong and Taiwan. 
A highlight of the Summit was the inauguration of the International Society for Minimally invasive and Noninvasive Medicine (ISMINIM). Dr. Franco Orsi, head of the Division of Interventional Radiology, Isituto Europeo di Oncologia (IEO), Milan, Italy was elected as the first President of the society. Prof. Wenzhi Chen, the Director of the Haifu Center at the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University was elected as the Vice President, and Prof. Lian Zhang form Chongqing Medical University was selected as the Secretary-General. The Society seeks to develop the highest standards of clinical practice in the field of minimally invasive and noninvasive therapeutic medicine through education and research; to promote research in all aspects of minimally-invasive and noninvasive medicine and related sciences, including clinical research in the promotion of quality and personalized healthcare; and to foster closer fellowship among all members in the different branches of minimally-invasive and noninvasive medicine and greater cooperation among all members and allied healthcare professionals. The Society is in the planning of launching a new journal - Journal of Minimally-invasive and Non-invasive Medicine.
